Beijing Sunrise: This beauty was taken from the 15th
floor of the Great Wall Sheraton in Beijing early on a February morning.
It only lasted a few seconds. Talk about being in the
right place at the right time. |
 |
That same sunrise lit up the roof of the convention
center.
This look also lasted for only a few seconds. |
 |
The Great Wall of China
An unimproved section of the Wall north of Beijing.
This is truly an amazing structure. |
 |
Keeper of the World
This bronze male lion is from one of many pairs on
display in the Forbidden City.
The male's right paw rests on the world, while the female's
cradles a young lion. |
 |
Village Gate
This is one of two gates to a village about 1 hour
south of the center of Beijing. The main occupations include farming and
shepherding. |
 |
Hustle and Bustle
Business in downtown Beijing happens at a very fast
pace. When able to relax there is always time to smile for the camera.
|
 |
Amazed at the world.
A gifted artist has captured the inquisitive nature of
children, with a uniquely Chinese twist.
|
 |
Stone Market.
Filled with all kinds of statues carved from marble
and granite and made from concrete and other stone.
|
 |
Roof adornments are common on many of the buildings.
These are on the roof of a side building at the entrance to the Forbidden
City. |
 |
Smile for the camera.
Everyone seems happy to stop for a minute and pose for
the camera. |
 |
Arrrrgh!
Another work by that same gifted artist. Every time I
see it I wonder "What exactly is that look for"? |
 |
Don't get too close!
I asked Mark to walk around behind the guard so I
could get his picture. The guard did not care for this too much. |
 |
We really love this.
When the deal is done it's good to relax and pose a
little.
